King Sigismund, future Holy Roman Emperor, visited local resident William Bruges, England’s first Garter King of Arms. There was a stupendous feast in Kentish Town at Whitsun 1416. The feasting, drama, music, dazzling ceremonial and colourful personalities have left faint echoes in and around today’s Camden.
